POTOSMOS

Die Fotocollage potosmos ist eine Zusammenarbeit von Lorenz Potocnik & Gregor Graf.1:2 Abbildung der Wohnung Lorenz Potocniks für die Ausstellung AustriArchitektur / aedes Berlin Ausstellungsbeteiligung & Konzept von Lorenz Potocnik, 17. Juni - 21. Juli 2005.

potosmos kehrt Gesammeltes, Träume und Realisiertes ohne unmittelbare Wertung nach Außen. 10 Jahre Skizzenbücher, Notizen, Fotos und gesammelte Bilder bzw. Texte und Wörter ergeben somit ein Ganzes. Oberfläche in der Ausstellung ist eine raumbildende großflächige Fotocollage der Wohnung, ein außer Kontrolle geratener Mikrokosmos, Höhle, Lager, Arbeitsstätte. potosmos will die Vergangenheit zur Zukunft machen. Gesamte Information gleichzeitig stellen und die scheinbaren Gegensätze professionell und persönlich zusammenbringen.

In der Ausstellung bietet potosmos vier Möglichkeiten des Eintauchens : eine Lade (1.), kleine Wunderkammer, Kurioses bis Haptisches, Sinnliches, Absurdes... der Besucher ist aufgefordert zu kramen!  ....die Fotocollage (2.), Suchbild, verschiedene Möglichkeiten  des Fokussierens.
Die Schärfe des Bildes lässt das Lesen jedes Details zu. ....ausziehbare Schuber  (3.) (Bilder) der  Bücherkisten.  Ein Fach in den abgebildeten Regalen existiert tatsächlich räumlich. Darin befinden sich Bücher (4.) bestehend  aus zusammenkopiertem Material / Inhalten aus eben diesen Regalen: Eigene Arbeiten, Fotos, Texte, Skizzen, Zeitungsartikel,  Objekte, usw. ...eine chaotische Momentaufnahme.

The installation turns acquired knowledge, visions, and realized activities outward. 10 years of
sketchbooks, collected images and texts form a whole. The exhibition surface is a photographic collage of this microcosmos. Cave, depot, workshop and living space in one, its legible complexity - comparable to a visit to my inner spaces. A chaotic snapshot is created via mixing past and future. potosmos attempts to reconcile antagonisms between the personal and the professional with modes of immersion in 1. a drawer = a little cabinet of curiosities, in 2. the photocollage = searching images with various possibilities of focus, 3. extractable slipcases = images of book crates. In an existing compartment can be found 4. books of compiled contents (my own works, photographs, texts, sketches, objects, etc.) drawn from the shelves. potosmos is on a scale of ca. 1:2. A wheeled stool allows zooming in and out.
